生平
在古巴的哈瓦那出生，5岁时全家移居美国迈阿密，长大进入佛罗里达州国际大学后，加入剧团登台表演。70年代后期移居洛杉机，开始参加电视剧演出，1981年参加了当时很流行电视系列剧《希尔街的忧伤》。1983年演了首部电影《再见蓝天》。1986年在影片《英雄胆》(8 Million Ways to Die)中饰演毒贩Angel Moldonado，因在此篇出色表演，被导演看中，邀请参加电影《铁面无私》，饰演神枪手警探角色。接下来使安迪·加西亚受关注是1989年参加Ridley Scott执导的电影《黑雨》饰演一名警察。1990年又与影星Richard Gere合作参加导演Mike Figgis拍摄的影片《流氓警察》。同年参加了电影《教父3》，饰演接棒人，在影片中的出色的表现获得奥斯卡最佳配角的提名，巩固了他在国际影坛上的地位。1992年拍摄了影片《盲女凶杀案》和《无名英雄》。1994年开始挑大梁主演《当男人爱上女人》，近年以主演动作片为多。凭借1994年的影片《当男人爱上女人》里饰演梅格瑞恩的丈夫而赢得了广泛的好评。1997年在影片《暴徒》中扮演传奇暴徒Lucky Luciano。在1998年的影片《亡命之计》中再一次扮演的警察。2000年在电视剧《深情号角手》中饰演了曾三次获得葛莱美奖的古巴爵士小号名家亚图洛山多瓦(Arturo Sandoval)。2001年参加Steven Soderbergh执导影片《十一罗汉》，在片中扮演冷酷的夜总会老板。2003年出演影片《行骗天下》，2004年出演了影片《莫迪里阿尼》，此片描写的是在艺术大师及其流派层出不穷、交相辉映的20世纪的艺术家莫迪里阿尼，他的作品以诗人的气质和雕塑家的眼光刻画出人间的种种个性创造了一种特殊的风格。同年还有《熄灯追缉令》以及《十二罗汉》，和2005年的影片《迷失城市》。安迪·加西亚以出色的表演和活跃的风格，得到了导演和观众的肯定。
